Ein Track, der nur gleichbleibend läuft, wird schnell langweilig. Spannung entsteht durch **Weglassen** und **Verdichten**.

In den ersten vier Takten ist es ein **Breakdown**: Kick, Clap, Hi-Hat und Bass fehlen, übrig bleiben Akkorde und Melodie. Die Beine wollen weitertanzen, aber der Boden ist weg.
In den nächsten vier Takten folgt der **Build-up**: Die Hi-Hat kommt zurück, und die Snare wird dichter, erst Viertel, dann Achtel, dann Sechzehntel. Im letzten Takt bleibt die letzte Zählzeit leer, eine kurze Luftpause vor dem Einsatz.

Dann geht es wieder von vorne los. Im nächsten Song kommt dann auch der Beat zurück.
